Welcome to UCLU Judo club- the official Judo club of  University College London.Founded over a decade ago, the club is now well established as a martial arts hub in central London. We have regular training sessions throughout the week, catering for all levels, from newcomers to the sport right up to experienced practitioners aiming to compete. Although not a team sport, there is a strong sense of comradery within the club, which new members quickly become a part of. As well as training, we have regular events throughout the judo calendar, including competitions at local to national level, gradings, seminars and socials.

Judo itself is a hugely rewarding martial art which has the unique benefit of being both full contact from the outset and extremely safe to practice. The principals of Judo mean that size and strength are secondary to timing and skill, meaning any adversary can be overcome through training.

A high standard of technical instruction at UCL is maintained through our head instructor Sensei Bane Andjelkovic; a sixth dan and former international competitor, and an outstanding asset to the club.

Whether practicing Judo as a sport, for self defense, as a hobby or as a full body workout, Judo at UCL is a fantastic way to improve fitness, coordination and self-confidence, as well as providing an opportunity to meet new people in an out-of the-ordinary environment. New members are always very welcome to come and give it a go.
